Kenny Hrncir is in his second year as the Co - Offensive Coordinator / Quarterbacks Coach for UT Permian Basin football in 2025.
After Hrncir's playing career, he was hired as the quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator for his former team, UT Permian Basin under his former head coach, Kris McCullough. In June 2024, he was promoted to co-offensive coordinator and retained his role as quarterbacks coach. During his first season coach at UTPB in 2024, Kenny Hrncir was the youngest offensive coordinator in college football at just 23 years old.
Hrncir played four years at East Central University (2019-22) before transferring to UT Permian Basin for his final season (2023) after East Central head coach Kris McCullough was hired as the Falcons' new head coach. In his final season at East Central (2022), Hrncir was named Honorable Mention All-Great American Conference (GAC). In his one year playing for the Falcons, Hrncir threw for 2,878 yards with 30 touchdowns and nine interceptions en route to earning Lone Star Conference (LSC) Offensive Player of the Year and All-Texas Non-FBS Offensive Player of the Year honors. He was also named to the 2023 Don Hansen NCAA Division II All-America team (Honorable Mention).
Hrncir completed 55.37 percent of his passes and in addition to his 2,878 yards and 30 touchdowns through the air, he added 682 yards and eight scores on the ground for 3,560 yards in total offense. During his one season at UTPB, Hrncir was a four-time LSC Offensive Player of the Week, First-Team All-LSC, 2023 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (CCA) Second-Team All-Super Region 4, and set the single-season school records for passing touchdowns, passing yards and total offensive yards. He finished ranked eighth in total offense (296.67 ypg), 11th in passing touchdowns and 23rd in passing yards per game (239.83) for NCAA DII.
In Hrncir's first game at UTPB, the Falcons scored a program record 96 points in the victory over NAIA Texas College. In week 4, against West Texas A&M, Hrncir and the Falcons rallied from two 10-point deficits in the fourth quarter to win 41-40 in overtime. Against the Buffaloes, Hrncir threw for 319 yards and three touchdowns along with 105 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns and was named the LSC Offensive Player of the Week. In week 8, against No. 19 Angelo State, Hrncir threw for four touchdowns as the Falcons won 28-23 and would be named the LSC Offensive Player of the Week for the second time. The Following week, against Western Oregon, Hrncir threw for 379 yards and scored three touchdowns in the second quarter alone, two passing and one rushing, as the Falcons won 28-16; for his performance, Hrncir would be named LSC Offensive Player of the Week for the second week in a row.
In high school he played two years at Wink High School and then finished up his last two years at Needville High School. He finished his senior season completing 123 of 251 passes for 2,004 yards with 18 touchdowns and 7 interceptions, while also rushing for 1,334 yards and 11 touchdowns. He was First-Team All-District as a senior, was Honorable Mention All-State in 2016 and was the District Newcomer of the Year as a freshman. He also particpated in baseball, golf and track & field in high school and was a member of the Student Council.
The Wink, Texas, native earned a Kinesiology Degree from East Central University. Hrncir's father, Andy Hrncir, is an assistant football coach at Andrews High School in Andrews, Texas.
