Jonah Martinez began as a Volunteer Assistant Football Coach at UT Permian Basin in Fall 2026. He is currently working with the quarterbacks as well as offensive film breakdown.
Martinez is a former collegiate football player with over 15 years of football experience as a player and coach. He is experienced in athlete development, leadership, film study, scouting preparation, and team operations.
Martinez worked as a linebackers coach (July 2025 - Oct. 2025), sprints/relays coach (Jan. 2026 - Mar. 2026), and head baseball coach (Mar. 2026 - May 2026) at Bel Air Middle School in El Paso, Texas.
Martinez was a running back/outside linebacker at Oklahoma Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma (June 2019 - Dec. 2021).
He is currently completing his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Oklahoma Panhandle State University (final year online; expected graduation May 2027).
Martinez attended Fabens High School in Fabens, Texas.
