Ivan Shultz will be returning for his second year as the Assistant Offensive Line Coach / Nutrition Center Coordinator at UTPB in 2026.
In 2025, he helped former Offensive Line Coach Mike Babcock coach five all-conference offensive lineman during the season, including second-team selection Girevis Bobey (OG) and honorable mention players Mason Schweinle (OG), Mekhi Pinckney (OT), Torbyn Eakins (OT) and Tyler Ball (C). In Shultz' first season on the coaching staff, the Falcons made the NCAA Division II Playoffs for the second time in program history and advanced to the Super Region Final (NCAA Quarterfinals) for the first time in program history. UTPB finished the season 11-3 overall, setting a program record for wins in a single season while also earning the first two playoff wins in program history, and was in a three-team tie for second in the Lone Star Conference with a 7-2 record. Behind the exploits of the offensive line, the Falcons' offense sat second in the LSC, averaging 461.9 total yards per game and 330.1 passing yards per game, and was third at 37.1 points per game. As a team, UTPB ranked third in the nation in passing offense, eighth in total offense and 16th in scoring offense.
