Biography

2025 (First-Year):
Played in 11 games as a rookie... Primarily saw action with returns on special teams, but UTPB made a concerted effort to get him the ball at wide receiver and running back as well as he caught four passes for 52 yards and added two rushes for 11 yards... Had five kickoff returns for 79 yards and one punt return for four yards... Started the season with rushing attempts at Adams State (Sept. 6) and vs. Midwestern State (Sept. 27)... Had his first-career reception (27 yards) and first-career kickoff return vs. No. 13 Central Washington (Oct. 11)... Had two kickoff returns for a season-high 43 yards and added his first-career punt return at Western Oregon (Oct. 18)... Had a career-high three receptions for 25 yards and added two kickoff returns for 30 yards at Western New Mexico Nov. 1)... Had at least one kickoff return (5 total) in three straight games (Oct. 11-Nov. 1).

Midland Legacy (HS):
Was 2023 and 2024 First-Team All-District... Had the most career receptions in Midland Legacy history... Senior Aiden Serrano capped off one of the great careers for an offensive player in school history with 54 catches for 942 yards and 14 TDs as a receiver, while adding 373 rushing yards and 11 rushing TDs as a part-time running back... Serrano ends his Rebel career as the program’s all-time reception leader with 183 catches, while his 2,691 career receiving yards only trail Vanderbilt’s Loic Fouonji (2,775)... Senior Aiden Serrano led the way with four first-half touchdowns and a two-point conversion as Midland Legacy got their first district win on Friday night after defeating San Angelo 42-36 (October 2024)... Midland Legacy senior receiver/running back Aiden Serrano is ABC Big 2’s Week 9 Athlete of the Week for his performance in the Rebels’ 49-38 win over Permian (October 2024). Serrano accounted for 161 all-purpose yards and found the endzone three times in the victory. Serrano has been a steady force for the Rebels this season. The uncommitted senior averages 112 all-purpose yards per game and 2.4 touchdowns per game. He has already etched his name in the Rebels’ record book once this season, becoming the program’s leader in career receptions. Serrano eclipsed former Rebel great Loic Fouonji’s receptions records on Sept. 20 against Abilene. Serrano currently has 165 catches, and counting. Now, he’s turning his focus to Fouonji’s staggering single-season receiving yards record of 1,471, set in 2019. Serrano has 637 receiving yards so far this season and 2,385 total in his career... Played for the Blue Team in the Marks Family All-Star Football Game put on by Permian Basin FCA at Odessa’s Ratliff Stadium (June 2025)...  Serrano burst on the scene as the 2022 District 2-6A Offensive Newcomer of the Year and has since established himself as one of the best pass catchers in school history... Serrano is the most accomplished player on an LHS team that is coming off a 10-3 season and that is shooting for unprecedented share of a seventh straight district championship, which has never occurred in Permian Basin’s large school district. Serrano had 76 catches for 1,008 yards and 11 touchdowns to lead the Rebels to the Class 6A Division I regional semifinals during his junior year. He became only the second receiver in school history to eclipse 1,000 yards, joining Vanderbilt’s  Loic Fouonji. With 129 career receptions, he would need only 13 more catches to tie Fouonji for the most in school history. His 1,749 career receiving yards are the second-best mark in LHS history behind Fouonji (2,775) and his 20 career TD receptions tie him with Sheldon Bass Jr. for third-most behind Fouonji (40) and Christian Romero (23)... He is also a member of the Rebels' varsity baseball team... Senior Aiden Serrano has been a part of the nucleus of the Legacy football and baseball programs over the past three years. Serrano was a 2024 District 2-6A first team selection as a center fielder, hitting .325 with three home runs, 13 RBI, 23 runs scored, 41 hits and two triples in 126 at-bats. As a senior, he has contributed as a two-way player, taking the ball every three turns as a starting pitcher. Even though Serrano has been a fixture on the LHS baseball team, he has gutted it out through injuries at times and has not always been at full strength. As a junior, he had separations in both shoulders to his Acromioclavicular joint (AC joint). As a result, Serrano didn’t pitch during district play and it was difficult for him to get a lot of zip on his outfield throws at the time. This is hard to believe considering Serrano can touch 90 miles per hour when pitching on the mound. While Serrano is most known now for his football accolades, he first became widely known on the local sports scene for his exploits on the 2019 Northern Little League All-Star Team that was one win away from reaching the Little League World Series.
