Corbin Montayne begins his first year as the Graduate Assistant Baseball Coach (Catchers) at The University of Texas Permian Basin in 2026-27.
Montayne played his junior and seniors seasons at fellow Lone Star Conference opponent Sul Ross State University. He played in 63 games between the two seasons, drawing the start in 59. He had 10 doubles, one triple, seven home runs, scored 28 runs, drove in 25 runs and hit .207. As a senior in 2016, he ranked sixth in the LSC in runners thrown out (8).
At SRSU, Montayne also made the LSC Commissioner's Honor Roll during all four of his semesters (Fall 2024, Spring 2025, Fall 2025, Spring 2026). He was a mathematics major at SRSU.
Montayne is a native of Frisco, Texas, attended High Park High School, and previously played at Venon College and Ranger College before making his way into the Lone Star Conference.
