Biography

2026 (Junior):
Started in six of his eight games before suffering a season-ending injury... Totaled four runs, three hits and three walks in 16 at bats... Posted a .923 fielding percentage (1 error in 13 chances) and made 10 putouts playing from the outfield... Hit leadoff and was 2-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored as UTPB earned its first road win of the season, 10-8, at Texas A&M International (Feb. 7). After reaching base four times in the previous game, Chaney reached base twice with a hit and a walk in the series finale at TAMIU (Feb. 8). In all, he hit .500 (3-6) with three walks and three runs scored in two games vs. TAMIU... Named to the Fall 2025 and Spring 2026 Lone Star Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll.

Trinity Christian College (2024-2025):
Started in 73 of 74 games in two seasons, including starting all 45 games as a sophomore... Career .340 hitter with 50 runs scored, 88 hits, 12 doubles, four triples, four home runs, 39 RBI's, 20 walks, 11 hit by pitches, 21 stolen bases, a .408 on-base percentage and a .463 slugging percentage across 259 at bats... As a sophomore in 2025 he hit .399 with 30 runs, 65 hits, seven doubles, one triple, two home runs, 25 RBI's, 12 walks, six hit by pitches, 14 stolen bases, a .454 on-base percentage and a .491 slugging percentage across 163 at bats... Defensively he recorded 151 putouts in two seasons without a single error (1.000 fielding percentage across 153 total chances)... 2025 NAIA Scholar-Athlete and CCAC All-Academic Team.

2023 All-Conference and All-Area player... Also played basketball.
