We would like to invite you and your family to become a part of Falcon Wings. Falcon Wings is a group of families and individuals from the area who support the
UTPB Men's and Women's Basketball teams. It is our goal for each team member to have a family to enhance their Falcon experience. We hope you are interested in supporting this program.
As a Falcon Wings member family, you would keep in contact with your assigned student(s) or coach and be an encouragement to them. Suggestions include contacting them weekly by phone, card or in person, and periodically arrange a meal at your home, bring food to their dorm room, do an activity on/off campus or just to spend time with them visiting and getting better acquainted. Many of these students are from far away places and need your/our support. We can make them feel at home in Odessa by spreading our Falcon Wings.
We will have two meet and greets so the players and coaches can become acquainted with prospective families. During the get
togethers, there will also be a compliance presentation so we all can become familiar with what we can and cannot do according to NCAA rules and regulations. Soon after the meet and greets, team members will be paired with their new family. Once you have your player(s), manager or Coach, you will start making new lifelong relationships.
During the school year, we will try to have social events, so we can all get close as a
UTPB family. Some events will include both teams and their families. There will be t-shirts for all Falcon Wings family members, so we can go to games and related events as a group showing our wings.
