Biography
AS A JUNIOR: Was named first-team All-Heartland Conference for the second-straight season as she averaged 14.5 points which was second on the team and dished out a team-high 104 assists...She ranked fourth in the conference in scoring and sixth in assists and her .750 free throw percentage was tied for fifth...She was also a force on the defensive side of the ball as she was second in the Heartland in steals with 73 and was second in assist/turnover ratio at 1.6...Opened the season with a 23-point effort against Wayland Baptist, which was the first of seven 20-point efforts...Scored a season-high 25 at Southwestern Oklahoma, where she hit 15-of-16 free throws...Also put in 25 against Cameron at home after hitting six three-pointers.
AS A SOPHOMORE: Was named the Co-Player of the Year in the Heartland Conference after averaging 14.6 points, 4.5 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 2.4 steals a game...Ranked in the top-five of the conference in four offensive categories including scoring (T-2nd), assists (2nd), steals (3rd) and assist/turnover ratio (1st)…Was 137-of-316 from the field and hit 43.4 percent from the field and was the team’s best three-point shooter with 43 three-pointers made…Was efficient from long range, hitting 36.1 percent from behind the arc…Was also the team’s best free throw shooter with over 50 attempts as she made 107-149 for 71.8 percent…Started season by scoring just one point against Tarleton State, but went on to have 19 double-digit outings, including a career-high 30-point performance against Texas A&M International…Surpassed the 20-point barrier eight times…Had a 10 assist outing at West Texas A&M and had five-or-more assists on 15 other occasions.
AS A FRESHMAN: Started 25 of the 26 games she appeared in where she led the team in scoring with 13.3 points and dished out 148 assists en route to receiving Freshman of the Year honors in the Heartland Conference…Scored 20-or-more points in four-straight games including a season-high 24 against Abilene Christian on 7-of-14 shooting, including 4-of-5 from behind the three-point line…recorded her first triple-double of her collegiate career against Newman where she poured in 18 points, pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds and dished out a career-high 12 assists…Had 10-or-more assists on three different occasions.
HIGH SCHOOL: Played four seasons at Americas High School in El Paso where she helped lead the team to an overall record of 101-19 during that time…As a senior she was named the All-City Co-MVP as well as the Co-MVP of her district and was named to the all-region team…As a junior she averaged 17.6 points, 5.9 assists and 5.4 rebounds per game and was named the All-City and all-district MVP and was a member of the all-region team…As a sophomore she was named the Offensive Player of the Year in the district as well as the All-City MVP and was on the All-City team and the district MVP as a freshman…Led team to a district championship as a freshman and a Sweet 16 appearance as a sophomore…Was a member of the track and field team for four years where she was a regional qualifier as a sophomore…Was a member of the National Honor Society, the National Spanish Honor Society and was in the top 10 percent of her class.
