ODESSA, Texas (April 23, 2026) – Joao D'Amorim and Nehal Naidoo of The University of Texas Permian Basin men's tennis team have been named the Lone Star Conference Men's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week.

D'Amorim and Naidoo are the third different UTPB doubles team to earn the conference award this season, and are also the second freshman duo to do so for the Falcons. D'Amorim was also a part of the previous freshman duo to win it with Philipp Gaurieder.

D'Amorim and Naidoo went 2-0 at No. 1 doubles to fuel an unbeaten road week for the Falcons. The duo won 6-3 against Western New Mexico then 6-1 against Sul Ross State. D'Amorim and Naidoo also combined to go 4-0 in singles. Their play helped snap a four-match losing streak and was instrumental in a 4-3 victory against WNMU.
