UTPB Champions Fund Open Set to Tee Off for Second Year at Ratliff Ranch

2/11/2026 11:30:00 AM

After a highly successful debut last spring, the UT Permian Basin Athletic Department is set to host the second annual UTPB Champions Fund Open on Thursday May 14 – returning to Ratliff Ranch after an impressive inaugural event in 2025.

This exciting 4-Man Scramble features two tee times (8 AM & 1:30 PM) with only 24 teams per slot, so don't wait to secure your spot.

The entry fee per team is $800 and includes green fee, driving range fees, cart fee, lunch, and 2 drink tickets for each person. Hole signs are also available for $250 each and must be purchased by Wednesday, April 30.

There will be prizes for the first, second and third lowest scoring teams in each flight as well as prizes for longest drive and closest to the pin on select holes.

Last year's tournament took place under perfect West Texas skies on May 15 and drew an outstanding field of 176 golfers, forming 44 teams. The event nearly sold out in its first year, filling 44 of the 46 available team spots and quickly establishing itself as a must-attend fundraiser for Falcon Athletics.

The inaugural Champions Fund Open generated more than $32,000 in support of the UTPB Champions Fund, thanks in large part to the generosity of its title sponsors—Kip Agar & PFS Aggregates, Mark Ball & Hellas Construction, John & Heather Hutson, and Ratliff Ranch. Additional support from 24 hole sponsors also played a critical role in making the event a resounding success.

With strong participation, enthusiastic community support, and a premier venue, the Champions Fund Open laid a strong foundation in its first year. The upcoming edition looks to build on that momentum, once again bringing together alumni, supporters, and friends of Falcon Athletics for a day of competition, camaraderie, and championship-level support.

Register for the UTPB Champions Open and/or purchase a hole sign today by clicking here. All proceeds will directly support UTPB Athletics for scholarships and other operational needs.
