SAN ANGELO, Texas (September 7, 2025) – After a standout performance during the first day of the tournament, sophomore outside hitter Ashlee Macias was named to the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational All-Tournament Team.

Despite only playing in two matches (7 sets), Macias led the Falcons in kills (38) and points (41) during the opening weekend of the season. Macias averaged 5.43 kills per set on .384 percent hitting, and averaged 5.86 points per set.

It was a record-breaking day for Macias.

In the opening match of the season against Adams State University, Macias recorded 23 kills on 54 attempts in just three sets, finishing one kill shy of breaking into the top-five single-match kill record for UTPB. Macias also added 12 digs to record her fourth-career double-double and first of the season. Macias totaled nine kills on .438 percent hitting in the first set of the match.

In UTPB's second match of the season against Southern Nazarene University, Macias got started with seven kills on .667 percent hitting in the first set and for the second match in a row, had 15 kills to her credit through two sets. She was hitting .737 percent at that point in the match, which is where she finished as she was limited by an injury and only played partial time in two of the final three sets. The result, Macias shattered the previous school record for attack percentage, hitting .737 percent on 19 attempts. The previous record was .684 percent by Travana Matthews vs. Texas A&M International University on September 7, 2018.
