A New Era, A New Energy: Transfers Bring New Identity to Falcons

ODESSA, Texas (August 15, 2025) – The last group The University of Texas Permian Basin Head Women's Soccer Coach Garrett Kull and his staff are excited to announce will be the incoming transfers for the Falcons this Fall.

"In this new age of college athletics, you have to have the ability to recruit transfers," said Coach Kull, "We feel this group is going to address some immediate needs for us on the field, but I believe their biggest impact may be on the team in the locker room."

The range of experience for this group of transfers is vast, considering they come from the NCAA Division level, the Lone Star Conference itself, and the NAIA and junior college levels.

These commits include:
 
Allyson Reed – Transfer So. – Angelo State University – Cleburne, TX
Reed transfers to Falcons after representing Angelo State University, where she was a member of the 2023 Lone Star Conference All-Freshmen Team. A standout for Cleburne High School, Reed was named the 5A Newcomer of the Year in 2019 and the Offensive Player of the Year in 2020. Reed also played club soccer for Solar Soccer Club.
 
Ella Bertram – Transfer Jr. – Paris Junior College – Weatherford, Texas
The Paris Junior College graduate will join the Falcons after a season that saw her start all 15 matches last season and become an NJCAA All-Academic awardee. The Weatherford, Texas, native also represented Aledo High School, where she helped guide her team to a 17-7-2 record her senior year. As a senior at Aledo, she was named a TASCO Honorable Mention All-Region Team Defender, Academic All-District, and First-Team All-District.
 
Luz Capuchino – Transfer Jr. – University of Houston Victoria – Garland, Texas
This transfer arrives at UTPB after representing the Jaguars last season. Capuchino's efforts were recognized when she received the Red River Conference Offensive Player of the Week back in September. The South Garland High School graduate was named the Offensive Player of the Year her senior season, and also represented her school on the cross country team.
 
Parker Frei – Transfer Jr. – New Mexico State University / New Mexico Highlands University – Albuquerque, N.M.
Frei committed to the Falcons after the opening of the Spring transfer portal. Frei will join the Falcons with a wealth of knowledge at the NCAA Division I and Division II level. Prior to transferring to New Mexico State University, Frei played in six matches for New Mexico Highlands and totaled 36 saves in goal. A standout for Sandia High School, she was a four-year letter earner and a two-year team captain while also being named Honorable Mention All-District and Academic All-District twice.
