CSCAA Scholar All-American 2025

Swimming & Diving earn Scholar All-America Team Honors

ODESSA, Texas (July 7, 2025) – The University of Texas Permian Basin men's swimming & diving team and the women's swimming team have been selected by the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) as Scholar All-America Teams for the Spring 2025 semester. The UTPB men's swimming & diving team (21 participants) and women's swimming team (7 participants) posted GPAs of 3.31 and 3.16, respectively, to earn the honors.

In total, 763 teams from 432 institutions were named as Scholar All-America Teams by the CSCAA this semester. Teams were selected on the basis of their Spring 2025 grade point averages and represent 18,459 student-athletes. To earn this prestigious recognition, teams were required to achieve a grade point average (GPA) of 3.00 or higher during the Spring 2025 semester.

UTPB Head Swimming & Diving Coach Brian Schroeder said, "I am very proud of what our team has accomplished in the classroom this Spring. We had 17 student athletes have a 3.5 GPA or higher with four, Colin Doyle, Emma Gerhart, Alondra Ortiz, and Rowan McWhorter, of those being 4.0."

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy, and professional development.
