Abby stands at 6'5 and will be an absolute rim protector and beast around the rim. Mariah is a scoring PG that has great pace, control, IQ and is equally impactful on the defensive end. What a class! When asked why she chose UTPB, Imani shared:
"I decided to go to UTPB because I've always felt like my talents could be used more at the D2 level. When Coach Rae was describing the school and the team to me, I truly felt like this was the place for me. She said the team has great chemistry and is family-oriented, and the campus is beautiful."

Family holds a special place in Imani's life. "Family is very important to me; without them I wouldn't be where I am today." 
 
Imani is an extremely high-level athlete that is a 3-level scorer! Her versatility and ability to play around the rim will be incredible for us!  Imani fits our team standards and will be a great addition to our campus community.  We certainly got a steal all the way from the Sunshine State!


Abigail Shouse
6'5 Center

Notable Awards: All-district, All-tournament, Records in blocks, best FG% and rebounds, National Honor Society- English Expo Champion & NM representative for Skills USA
 
When asked why she chose UTPB, Abigail explained:
"UTPB felt like the right place because of its balance between athletics and academics. The program and community felt like home from the start, and I know I'll have the opportunity to grow both as a player and as a student."
 
Abby is every bit of 6'5 with great length, mobility and physicality.  We have never had a player like Abby and are ecstatic that she chose us. We can't wait to feel her presence on the court and coach her up.  Abby is also very involved at school, earning top academic honors and has many leadership roles on her campus and in her community. Notable Awards: 3x DPOY, First Team All-District & All-State, West TX All Star MVP; All-State T&F, Academic All-State, A's entire academic career.
 
When asked why she chose UTPB, Mariah said:
"Definitely the coaching staff. It was important to go somewhere the head coach was actively recruiting me, and Coach Boothe did not let up, I really appreciated that. The facilities and training resources for athletes are top tier. Staying close to family and friends and being able to represent my hometown is something I'm really looking forward to."
 
I am thrilled Mariah chose us. The PG position requires a lot for us in every way. While following Mariah, it was obvious she would excel in that role for us. She is well known in the Permian Basin area as a talented basketball player and PG but more importantly, she has high character and is a dedicated student.
