ODESSA, Texas (November 11, 2025) – On Monday, November 10, the NCAA Division II Championship Committee released the latest round of regional rankings that will eventually determine the playoff field, and UT Permian Basin football was ranked eighth out of 10 teams from Super Region Four.

This will be the final round of rankings to be released prior to the announcement of the tournament field on Sunday, November 16.

As a reminder, the top eight teams from each region will earn playoff invitations and every conference receives one automatic bid to the tournament.

This year, the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) and Great American Conference (GAC) have been added to Super Region Four, joining the Lone Star Conference (LSC) and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC).

From the LSC, Central Washington remains second in the region while Western Oregon moves up one spot to No. 7 to remain one spot ahead of the Falcons.

Both UTPB and WOU surpassed Western Colorado, which started the season 8-0 before dropping its last two games vs. CSU Pueblo (L, 24-21) and at Chadron State (L, 27-24 OT).

The Falcons will conclude the regular season next weekend against Sul Ross State. Senior Day will begin at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, inside Astound Broadband Stadium.

The 2025 NCAA DII football championship begins with a selection show on Sunday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m. ET on NCAA.com. The 32-team field consists of 16 automatic qualifiers and eight at-large bids per super region.
