ODESSA, Texas (October 31, 2025) – After receiving votes in the poll at the beginning of the month, the UT Permian Basin men's golf team is now ranked No. 15 in the Bushnell/Golfweek DII Coaches Poll for October 31, 2025. It is the second-highest ranking in program history in the coaches poll after the Falcons ranked as high as No. 13 in the Spring of 2024.
UTPB totaled 149 points in the poll, trailing only No. 9 St. Mary's (270 points) and No. 11 West Texas A&M (199 points) from the Lone Star Conference. The Rattlers rose from No. 13 in the last poll to No. 9 while the Buffaloes rose from No. 23 to No. 11. Also from the LSC, DBU (34 points) and Oklahoma Christian (24 points) are the top-two teams receiving votes. UT Tyler is receiving one vote as well.
Lee is the new No. 1 in the poll for the first time since September 9, 2022, after winning two of their four Fall tournaments. Lee earned five first-place votes and 405 points in Fall 2025's final poll. Grand Valley State (seven first-place votes), West Florida (three-first-place votes), Central Oklahoma, and Florida Southern rounded out the top five, while Wingate (one first-place vote), Georgia Southwestern, Columbus State, St. Mary's (TX), and Catawba completed the top 10.
Throughout its Fall season, UTPB finished sixth at the Shootout at PGA Rivera Maya (Sept. 28-30), won The Hrnciar (Oct. 6-7), finished second overall while also finishing as the highest NCAA Division II team at the Ryan Palmer Foundation Invite (Oct. 14-15), and lastly, finished sixth as well at the DBU Classic (Oct. 27-28). The Falcons never finished lower than sixth place during the Fall and shot under 300 as a team in 10 of their 12 rounds and in each of their final nine rounds of the semester. In addition, UTPB shot under-par as a team five times during the semester.

Paul Chavez. "Being recognized in the top-15 is a major accomplishment for this program, and we look forward to being able to continue what we have started this Spring."
The Bushnell/Golfweek DII Coaches Poll will resume in early 2026.
