UT Permian Basin student-athletes continue to excel in the classroom posting a cumulative department grade-point average (GPA) of 3.10 for the Fall 2024 semester.

Out of the 226 student-athletes, 42 had a perfect 4.0 GPA, while 155 had a 3.0 GPA or higher.

"I am extremely proud of our student-athletes and the work they put into their academic pursuits during the Fall 2024 semester," said Vice President for Athletics Scott Larson.  "Academics will always be a priority within Falcon athletics, and I look forward to continued success in the classroom for all of our athletics programs."

Leading the way for the Falcons were women's tennis, men's tennis, and soccer programs. Women's tennis posted a remarkable collective GPA of 3.66, followed closely behind by men's tennis with a 3.65 and soccer with a 3.60.

During the Fall semester, the Falcons had eight student-athletes who were named to the 2024 Academic All-District® Team, selected by College Sports Communicators: women's volleyball players, Jenna Gray,  Gabby Gregorski, and Gloria Geurin, women's soccer players, Natalia Salas,  Kristel Chaves and Vasoula Flaouna, and football players Gunnar Abseck and Ben Patterson

Additionally, Gray and Gregorski (WVB) and Dylan Graham (FB) were also named to the Lone Star Conference All-Academic team.
