ODESSA, Texas (August 22, 2024) – With the football season opener next week, The University of Texas Permian Basin Athletics has announced a partnership with "KQRX 95.1 FM, 95X, a West Texas Radio Group station" on a weekly coach's show featuring Head Coach Kris McCullough starting one week from today.

Starting on August 29, the 30-minute show will run live on the air starting at 6:30 p.m. each Thursday throughout the football season. It will then be replayed on television on Saturday mornings on KMID-TV Big 2 before each game.

"We are very excited to reestablish our partnership with KQRX 95.1 FM, 95X, a West Texas Radio Group station," spoke UTPB Interim Vice President for Athletics Scott Farmer. "With the success of our football team last season, this partnership is essential in growing the brand of UTPB Athletics within the greater Odessa-Midland community and regionally. Coach McCullough is one of the best young head coaches in college football, and the opportunity for us to showcase him and our program each week is a can't-miss opportunity. We are grateful to our partners at KQRX for their continued support of UTPB Athletics."

West Texas Radio Group Vice President/General Manager John Moesch said, "We are very excited to again be the radio home of the UTPB Falcons. The energy and excitement surrounding the program has such a positive impact on the community. We are also pleased to bring back the Coach's Show which will feature Head Coach Kris McCullough each week. It's going to be a great season."

In addition, Monty Montgomery and Ben Farmer will return for their third season together broadcasting all UTPB football games live on KQRX 95.1 FM/95X. All five home football games will be available through the UTPB Athletics live stream.

"This is my fifth year overall broadcasting UTPB Football and my third year working with Ben," said Montgomery. "I am very excited to again to have the opportunity to be the play-by-play voice of the UTPB Falcon Football Team for the 2024 season. It is going to be an incredible year calling the games of the 2023 Defending Lone Star Conference Champions. And the fact that I get to call these games working alongside the best football color broadcaster in the Lone Star Conference, Ben Farmer, makes it even better. I hope everyone tunes in to 95X every Saturday to hear about Coach Kris McCullough and his team winning the Lone Star Conference again this season."

I'm a graduate of Permian High School, a second-generation graduate of UTPB - holding both Bachelor's and Master's degrees as a Falcon - as well as holding an additional Master's degree from the University of Oklahoma."
