ODESSA, Texas - The University of Texas Permian Basin forced a decisive game three with UT Tyler after the offense broke out in a big way late in a 19-11 victory on Saturday at Roden Field. The Falcons racked up 20 hits, including eight for extra bases, to force a winner-take-all game tomorrow in Odessa to advance in the Lone Star Conference Championships.

Mason Hamlin was 5-for-6 with three RBI and three runs scored. The sophomore added a pair of doubles and a triple, coming a home run shy of hitting for the cycle.
Austin Hall,
Taylor McDaniel, and
Gibrian Pena all had three hits on the day for the Falcons, with Hall and McDaniel driving in seven runs.

The teams traded runs in the first with the Falcons scoring theirs on a sacrifice fly by
Ethan Flodstrom. By the time the Falcons came to bat in the fourth, they trailed 6-1. A lead-off walk by Hall followed by a Pena single put a pair on for the Falcons in the fourth.
Clayton Coats drove in a run with a double before Pena scored on a sac fly by
Payton Matthews to make it 6-3.

The Patriots added a run in the top of the fifth, but the Falcons answered with another crooked number. Three straight singles by Hamlin, Flodstrom, and Hall brought the Falcons back within three at 7-4. A ground ball by Pena plated Flodstrom before McDaniel doubled home Hall to make it 7-6.

In the sixth, the teams traded runs once again with the Falcons scoring on a sac fly off the bat of Flodstrom. A pair of runs by UT Tyler put them ahead by three heading into the bottom of the seventh before UTPB broke out for an eight-run rally.

Pena and McDaniel singled to open the inning before Pena scored on a single by Matthews. A throwing error brought home Matthews and McDaniel to tie the game at 10. With
Jack Haggerty on first, Hamlin's triple brought him home and put the Falcons on top for the first time. Two batters later a wild pitch allowed Hamlin to score to make it 12-10 UTPB. Hall kept the momentum rolling with an RBI single before McDaniel's two-run double capped off the inning with the Falcons leading 15-10.

The Patriots refused to go away, hitting their fifth home run of the game in the top of the eighth to make it a four-run ball game. In their half of the inning, the Falcons put things away for good with a two-run double by Hamlin before Hall put the exclamation point on the game with a two-run home run.Â
Bryan Adams was terrific out of the bullpen for the Falcons, earning the win with 3.0 innings allowing just one run on one hit and striking out two.

Tomorrow's finale will begin at 1 p.m. from Roden Field with the winner advancing to the next round of the LSC Championships.
