Box Score ALPINE, Texas - On Wednesday, the University of Texas Permian Basin baseball team ran their winning streak to eight straight with a high-scoring win over Sul Ross State. The Falcons racked up 18 hits in their 20-10 win over their future Lone Star Conference opponent.

Mason Hamlin,
Ethan Flodstrom,
Austin Hall,
Gibrian Pena,
Caleb Boswell, and
Payton Matthews, had multi-hit games. Pena and Boswell led the way with three each. Flodstrom had a team-leading five RBI while Pena and Boswell had four RBI each.
Trevor Barth allowed one run over 3.0 innings for his third win of the year.

The Lobos struck for five runs in the bottom of the first for the early lead. Hall singled to lead off the second and Pena followed with a walk. Boswell got the Falcons on the board with a three-run blast to make it 5-3.Â

Quincy McGraw Jr. doubled later in the inning to restart the rally.
Carson Johnson singled him home to cap the inning at 5-4. In their half of the inning, the Lobos answered the Falcons with four runs to extend the lead.Â

In the third, Pena singled home Flodstrom to get the Falcons back within four. Flodstrom would double home a pair in the fourth before scoring again on a Pena single to make it 9-8. After a passed ball moved Pena to second, he came around to score on a base hit by Boswell to tie the score.

After the Lobos retook the lead at 10-9 in the fourth, the Falcon offense finished off the game with 11 runs in the fifth. Lobo pitching struggled to find the plate, walking three and hitting a pair of Falcons to score two runs and put the Falcons back on top 11-10. Hall singled to make it 12-10 and Pena doubled home a pair to go up by four.Â

Matthews brought home Hall before Pena stole home and the lead was 16-10. Matthews would also steal home and Hamlin drove in a run and the lead was eight. Flodstrom capped the rally with a two-run double to make it 20-10.

Jalen Johnson and
Brock Robarts each threw a scoreless inning to close the door.
