ODESSA, Texas – The UT Permian Basin baseball team is receiving consideration in the first South Central Region Rankings which was released on Wednesday (Apr. 24) by the the NCAA headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Th Falcons are one of eight teams listed in the first rankings. The teams under consideration are listed in alphabetical order for the first rankings and then teams will be ranked in the following weeks. The first seeded rankings will be released on Wednesday, May 1
st.
The winners of the two conference tournaments (LSC, RMAC) receive an automatic bid into the postseason with the last four spots being filled by at-large selections. The official announcement of the NCAA Division II Championship field will be made on Sunday, May 12th via an online selection show at NCAA.com.
The top six teams in the South Central Region will take part in the Regional Tournament taking place on May 16-18 hosted by the top two overall seeds in a double-elimination event, those two winners will advance to a best-of-three series in the South Central Super Regionals on May 24-25 at the highest remaining seed. The Division II College World Series will take place on June 1-10 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
