There are many ways to express yourself in life. For UT Permian Basin women's basketball player Kamryn Lemon, clothing has been her form of expression. Leading to her creating her own clothing line "Ask Yourself," toward the end of her freshman year in high school.
She came up with the brand name "Ask Yourself" from her own philosophy, "The desire to be great comes from within. It
's not about what coaches ask of you, your parents ask of you, it's about what you ask of yourself."
Customers can see Lemon's clothes on her Instagram account askyourselfclothing.co, and once her website is back up and running, they will be able to purchase her clothes directly from the website. You'll find everything from t-shirts, to sweats, hoodies, and socks.
"The t-shirts are my favorite part of the brand because of the different types of expressions that they have," said Lemon. "I have one that says, 'God Given Talent,' which is what I live by. Without God I'm no one, so by having faith through him I'm able to give all the glory to him."
Another one of her favorite shirts says "Can You Guard Me."

"Growing up I just felt like no one could really guard me, so that was my way of expressing that and making it fun," said Lemon.
While some clothing lines can be pricey, Lemon has made sure her brand is affordable for everyone.
"Where I'm from a lot of kids aren't fortunate to buy the higher-priced stuff. Some of my shirts are $10 or $15 and my sweats are around $45 to $50."
Affordability has also helped Lemon have success when she travels and sets up pop-up shops.
"I was able to set up a pop-up shop in Long Beach, California and I sold out a couple of my shirts," said Lemon.
Lemon also collaborates with other college athletes on sales and giveaways to help market her brand to different audiences. Going forward she plans to take her designs to TikTok to help expand the brand to more platforms.
With Lemon's collegiate career ending, she's working on starting an AAU girls and boys team.
"If I can do that and continue to push my message through my clothing line, while helping youth, that's my goal this summer."
