Falcons Battle Eagles At Home

ODESSA, Texas – The University of Texas Permian Basin softball team (1-16 Lone Star Conference, 4-22) lost 3-0 and 11-0 to Oklahoma Christian (13-7 LSC, 17-11), Tuesday afternoon at Falcon Field.

Game 1
UTPB had bases loaded with two outs in the first inning.  Oklahoma Christian managed to get the next batter out to escape.

The Eagles scored a run in the second and two in the fourth.  In the fifth and seventh innings, the Falcons got the leadoff hitter on.  OCU kept UTPB from scoring both innings.

For UT Permian Basin, senior Destini Trahan (0-9) gave up five hits, three runs with one earned, walked four and struck out five in seven innings.

For Oklahoma Christian, Grace Anderson (8-5) gave up three hits, walked two and struck out eight in seven innings.

Game 2
In the second inning, senor Stephanie Jimenez led off with a single.  The Eagles got three straight outs to end the threat.  OCU scored 11 runs over the next three innings for the win.

For UT Permian Basin, freshman Morgan McGaugh (4-6) gave up five hits, five runs with one earned, walked one and struck out two in three and two-third innings.

For Oklahoma Christian, Jill Dickson (9-3) gave up one hit, walked one and struck out eight in four innings.

UT Permian Basin closes the series with Oklahoma Christian, Wednesday, Mar. 13.  The game is scheduled to start at noon.
