UTPB Takes Thrilling Win Over Grizzlies

LOS LUNAS, N.M. – The home run streak was kept alive as The University of Texas Permian Basin softball team (2-3) beat Adams State (1-4) 6-5 at the SCRC Tournament, Sunday  at Los Lunas Sports Complex.

In the third inning, Adams State took advantage of four walks and a ground out to score two runs.  That remained the score until the bottom of the fifth.

Senior Julia Bumford laced a double to center field.  Freshman Kylie Parker then blasted the ball over the fence to tie the game at 2-2.  This is the fourth straight game that the Falcons have homered.

Sophomore Angelina Arriaga doubled and freshman Faith Thigpen went in to run for her.  Thigpen moved to third on a ground out and scored on a double by freshman Kaylee Moses.

Moses went to third on a wild pitch followed by a walk to sophomore Gabrielle Cabrera.  Cabrera was caught stealing; however, Moses dashed for home and scored to make it 4-2.  UT Permian Basin would add a run in the sixth.
