Falcons Fall To Patriots

TYLER, Texas – The University of Texas Permian Basin softball team (0-8 Lone Star Conference, 3-14) lost 8-0 and 8-0 to #6 UT Tyler (7-4 LSC, 15-5), Tuesday afternoon at Irwin Field.

Game 1
In the first inning, with two outs, UTPB put two runners on.  UT Tyler got a ground ball to end the threat.  The Patriots scored five runs over the first three innings to take control

For UT Permian Basin, senior Destini Trahan (0-6) gave up five hits, five runs, walked two and struck out three in two and two-third innings.

For UT Tyler, Genesis Armendariz (6-3) gave up four hits, walked one and struck out four in five and one-third innings.

Game 2
UTT scored four runs in the first two innings to effectively end the game.

For UT Permian Basin, freshman Morgan McGaugh (3-4) gave up nine hits, eight runs with seven earned and walked four in four innings.

For UT Tyler, Kaylee Davis (5-0) threw a no-hitter walking one and striking out three in five innings.

UT Permian Basin closes the series with UT Tyler, Wednesday, Feb. 29.  The game is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m.
