UTPB Battles With Patriots

TYLER, Texas – The University of Texas Permian Basin softball team (0-9 Lone Star Conference, 3-15) lost 8-0 to #6 UT Tyler (8-4 LSC, 16-5), Wednesday afternoon at Irwin Field.

UT Tyler scored twice in the first inning for the early lead.  UTPB kept the Patriots in check giving up just two hits over the next three innings.

UTT scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth to end the game.

For UT Permian Basin, junior Laila Vasquez (0-4) gave up six hits, six runs with five earned, walked three and struck out two in four and two-third innings.

For UT Tyler, Crimson Bryant (5-2) gave up one hit, walked one and struck out 12 in five innings.

UT Permian Basin is home, Saturday, Mar. 2 taking on Midwestern State.  The doubleheader is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.
