The UT Permian Basin women's basketball team has been selected as one of the 10 teams under consideration for the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament – which is scheduled to take place March 15 – 18.

The first rankings are listed in alphabetical order and are the first of three editions that will be announced by the NCAA selection committee prior to the final announcement of the national tournament on Sunday, March 10 via an online selection show.

The winners of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) and Lone Star Conference (LSC) Postseason Tournaments will receive the two available automatic qualifying bids into the tournament, while the final six teams of the eight-team South Central Regional Tournament field will be at-large bids determined by the NCAA selection committee.

Lubbock Christian, Texas A&M International, UT Tyler, and Texas Woman's, join the Falcons as one of the five teams under consideration from the LSC.

UTPB has had a historical season so far, currently one game shy of tying the school record for most wins in a single season - currently have 20 - and have had a number of "first" accomplished throughout the 2023-24 season. The Falcons will be on the road this week playing two tough opponents in UT Tyler (Feb. 22) and Texas Woman's (Feb. 24), who are currently second and first in the LSC standings.

Following the conclusion of this weeks games, The Falcons will play Angelo State at home on February 28 and then travel to Angelo State for their final game on March 2.
