COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Sophomore Emma Gerhart and junior Kathe Hepfer picked up wins for The University of Texas Permian Basin women's swimming & diving team on Day 1 of the Colorado College Classic, Friday at Schlessman Natatorium. 

There were two events held on the first day. Team scores are not available at this time.

Gerhart swam 18:41.21 to win the 1650-yard freestyle by over 17.70 seconds.  Freshman Chloe Siegrist was fourth at 19:24.68.

The Falcons went 1-2 on the 3-M board.  Hepfer took top honors scoring 450.60 points while sophomore Delaney Murphy scored 425.25 points.  Both scores hit the NCAA Diving Zone Qualifying mark.  For Hepfer, it was the second straight meet that she won.

Freshman Emi Goto was fifth (384.60 points) and sophomore Camilla Aguilar was sixth (336.05 points).

UT Permian Basin will compete at the Colorado College Classic, Jan. 20-21.  The meet will run all day on the 20th and 21st.
