Falcons Take Away A Tie

LAKEWOOD, Colo. –The University of Texas Permian Basin women's soccer team (0-1-1) took a 1-1 tie with Colorado Christian (0-2-1), Thursday night at Trailblazer Stadium.

Colorado Christian came out quick and senior Jenna McEnaney made a great save just 30 second into the contest.  At the 4:29 mark, sophomore Maria Tarrago was robbed of a goal by a strong save from the Cougar keeper.

With just about 31 minutes to go in the first half, sophomore Natalia Salas scored off a rebound to put the Falcons up 1-0.

In the second half, CCU scored at the 71:33 mark to tie the game up.  Strong defense and solid play by the goalkeepers kept the game a tie.

UT Permian Basin had 12 shots with four on goal, two corner kicks and were called for 18 fouls.  McEnaney finished with five saves.  Colorado Christian had 23 shots with seven on goal, four corner kicks and were called for 11 fouls.

UT Permian Basin remains in Colorado, Sunday, Sept. 10 playing Regis.  The game is scheduled to start at 11:00 a.m., Mountain Time.
