Falcons Are Stymied By Rangers

DENVER, Colo. – It was a hard-fought battle as The University of Texas Permian Basin women's soccer team (0-2-1) lost 4-2 to Regis (2-2), Sunday afternoon at Regis Turf Fields.

Regis started out quick scoring just 2:16 into the contest.  UTPB countered as junior Kristel Chaves scored off a corner kick by senior Tatiana Leggiero.

That made it 1-1 at the 11:26 mark.  The Rangers struck 53 seconds later to take a 2-1 lead.  With 28:40 left in the half, Leggiero had a potential goal taken away by a great save from the Regis goalie.

The Rangers scored at the 27:02 mark and then added a goal with 30 minutes left in the second half to seal the game.  Junior Laura Perez converted a penalty kick at the 68:17 mark for the final score.
