Falcons And Patriots Battle To A Tie

ODESSA, Texas – It was another battle as The University of Texas Permian Basin women's soccer team (2-3-3, 0-1-2 Lone Star Conference) tied UT Tyler (2-2-5, 0-1-3 LSC) 2-2, Saturday afternoon at UTPB Soccer Field. This is the best conference start in school history as well as the first positive results against the Patriots.

At the 31:00 mark, junior Kat Wolfe put the ball into the net for the 1-0 lead.  With 3:17 left in the first half, senior Tatiana Leggiero took advantage of two nice passes to make it 2-0.

In the second half, junior Laura Perez was robbed of a goal by a strong play by the keeper.  Freshman Valeria Delgado made a couple of tough saves to keep her team up.  UT Tyler scored twice in the final five minutes to force a tie.

UT Permian Basin had 10 shots with seven on goal, one corner kicks and was called for nine fouls.  Delgado finished with seven saves.

UT Tyler had 11 shots with six on goal, 12 corner kicks and was called for 12 fouls.

UT Permian Basin stays home, Wednesday, Oct. 4 taking on West Texas A&M.  The game is scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
