ALPINE, Texas – Things didn't start the way UT Permian Basin (UTPB) wanted on Tuesday (Sep. 19) against Sul Ross State. However, the Falcons never gave up and battled back and earned a 3-2 comeback victory on the road.

With the win UTPB improved to 2-2-1 overall and improved their win streak to two games.

Things were clicking for the Lobos to start the game as they got on the board early – putting the ball in the back of the net at the 18:45 mark to take a 1-0 lead. A few minutes later – 21:55 mark to be exact - they found the back of the net once again increasing their lead to 2-0.

From there it was all about the Falcons offense and defense.

At the 28:21 mark, Maria Tarrago scored her first goal of the game off an assist by Ty Jones – trimming the Lobos lead to one goal.

Nearly eight-minutes later (36:05), Tarrago would score again, tying the game up at two-goals apiece.

The Falcons stayed on the attack and had two more opportunities to try and take the lead – having corner kicks at the 39:35 and 40:14 mark. Yet, they were unable to capitalize.

Things were pretty even in the second half. But that would change at the 71:37 mark of the game. Carolina Farias slipped the ball past the Lobos goalkeeper and unknowingly at the time, scored the game winning goal.

The Lobos recorded four more shots before the game ended, with only one being on goal.

Overall, the Falcons had 16 shots in the game, eight being on goal. For the Lobos they had 12 shots, six being on goal. Both teams finished with four corner kicks and 11 fouls.

UTPB will be back on the pitch Saturday (Sep. 23) opening up Lone Star Conference play against Dallas Baptist on the road in Dallas Texas at 12:30 p.m.
