Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

UTPB Turns Back The Mountaineers

ODESSA, Texas – The second half was the difference as The University of Texas Permian Basin women's soccer team (1-2-1) beat Schreiner (0-5) 3-0, Friday night at UTPB Soccer Field.

In the first half, UTPB had three potential goals taken away by strong plays from the Schreiner goalie.  With 1:36 left in the half, senior Jenna McEnaney made a great dive to keep the game scoreless.

In the second half at the 55:01 mark, senior Tatiana Leggiero served up a cross that senior Ty Jones headed in to make it 1-0.  With 18:24 to go, sophomore Maria Tarrago scored in traffic to put the Falcons up 2-0.

At the 86:24 mark, Leggiero closed out the scoring off a pass from junior Andrea Garcia.

UT Permian Basin had 21 shots with 13 on goal, 11 corner kicks and were called for 13 fouls.

Schreiner had four shots with three on goal, two corner kicks and were called for four fouls.  Audrey Rivera had eight saves.

UT Permian Basin hits the road, Tuesday, Sept. 19 taking on Sul Ross State.  The game is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
