Falcons Rocks the Hounds in Shutout Victory

ODESSA, TX – Three Falcons pick up a pair of hits each to support starting pitcher Creede Jeffers for his complete game 7-0 shutout win over Eastern New Mexico Saturday afternoon.

Jefferes sat down 12 Greyhounds with no walks on his way to his third win of the season.

UT Permian Basin scored seven runs on nine hits. Leading the way was Ethan Flodstrom who had two runs, on two hits with an RBI.

Ethan Babcock had two hits with a run and Mason Hamlin had two hits.

The Falcons got on the board first with a SAC fly from Michael Clapperton and an RBI single from Carson Johnson to go ahead 2-0.

A single from Christian Rodriguez started off a four run fourth inning with an RBI single to left field. An RBI single from Flodstrom and a two RBI single from Johnson capped off the big inning for the Falcons.

In the fifth, Jack Haggerty's SAC bunt brought in Brent Rigtrup for UTPB's seventh and final run.

Game two of the day saw lots of hits and some opportunities for the Falcons. UTPB picked up runs in the fourth and sixth innings but could not catch the Hound who went on to take the second game 5-2.

The Falcon pitching staff was led by Grant Havill who threw three shutout innings in his first decision of the season. Austin Parks had an impressive outing from the bullpen, striking out three batters in 1.1 innings pitched.

Sunday will be the final game of this series against ENMU. Game four is scheduled to start at noon.
