As his senior season winds down,
Max Warren has found another gear. On Saturday the senior scored 17 points, going 7-of-12 from the field, and grabbing six rebounds for UT Permian Basin Men's Basketball. For the week he averaged 14.5 points and was 13-of-18 shooting.
Warren pushed the Falcons out to the lead on Lubbock Christian with back-to-back layups before the first media timeout.
Jalen King followed his lead with a pair of buckets of his own to run the Falcons ahead 12-4. The three-ball was working from there for the Falcons as
DaJuan Jones and
Daniel Moody connected on a pair to keep the lead. The home side battled back, chipping away at the Falcon lead, and eventually took a 29-28 lead at the half.
Warren started the second half with five points, but the rest of the offense struggled to get into a rhythm. The Chaps shot 50 percent in the second half to eventually pull away 69-55.
King finished the afternoon with 13 points, while Jones added 11.
The Falcons head to Wichita Falls to face Midwestern State next Thursday. Download the UTPB Athletics App to follow the team all season long.
