SAN ANGELO, TX – The last time UT Permian squared up against conference foe Angelo State it was fight to the finish and Thursday night was no different.
 
After a game that had seven ties and six lead changes, the Falcons and Rams found themselves tied at 54-54 with 3:36 left in the game. The Falcons retook the lead off three free throws with just over 2:00 minutes left to play.
 
UTPB pulled within one point with 15 seconds left and picked up a quick foul to send ASU to the free throw line with under 10 seconds to play. The Rams only made one free throw to go up two points.
 
The Falcons got up a game tying shot up at the buzzer, but it did not find the bottom of the net. UTPB drops a heart breaker to ACU 61-59.
 
DaJuan Jones finished with 14 points, five assists, and a steal. Jalen King got 13 points off the bench to go with five rebounds. Rodney Carson Jr. got 12 points, four steals, two rebounds, and one assist.
