ODESSA, TX – For the first time this season the UT Permian Basin had a chance to play a home game, hosting Angelo State in a Lone Star match up.
The Falcons jumped out to an early 2-0 lead when
Aracely Araiza scored on a wild pitch and
Julia Bumford scored on an RBI double from
Melayna Lopez.
UTPB kept the game close into the late innings, but the Rambelles pulled away late to take game one 10-3.
Lopez,
Cheyenne Marquez, and
Aubree Beggs led the Falcons in hitting with a double coming from each.
Destini Trahan collected seven strikeouts in 5.1 innings pitched.
Games two and three have been moved to Thursday to avoid weather concerns Wednesday. The games are schedule for 2pm and 4pm.
