SAN ANGELO, TX – UT Permian Basin baseball hitters continue to find ways to score in a pair of games at Angelo State University Saturday afternoon.
In game one of the double header, the Falcons fell behind 6-0 heading into the top of the seventh, and final inning.
Christian Rodriguez started a Falcon rally with a homerun. UTPB managed to pull within one in the final frame, but came up short of the comeback.
Mason Hamlin picked up three hits with a run to lead all Falcon hitters.
Ivan Castro struck out two in two innings pitched.
The Falcons carried the momentum from the end of game one into game two, jumping out to a 4-2 lead after the first inning. UTPB and ASU finished the third inning all tied up at 5-5. Angelo State pulled away in the late innings to take the second game of the day.
Cooper Ciesielski and
Ethan Flodstrom each had a double in game two.
Sunday, the Falcons will play for the series split with the Rams in one nine inning game in San Angelo. First pitch is scheduled for 1pm.
