LUBBOCK – UT Permian softball's one-two punch of pitching and hitting had the Falcons filling up the box score. Falcon hitters combined for nine runs on 10 hits with seven RBIs.
Destini Trahan showed her appreciation for the run support by racking up nine strikeouts to collect her first win of the season.
UTPB started off the game with two runs off of singles from
Stephanie Jimenez and
Melayna Lopez to go up early 2-0.
In the fourth inning,
Julia Bumford hit a two RBI single to double the UTPB score and go up 4-0.
The Falcons closed the door in the fifth inning with five runs highlighted by a Bumford RBI triple.
UTPB ran away with game one of the day with a 9-2 win.

Morgan McQueen,
Cheyenne Marquez, and
Keri Sanford each had a stolen base.
