UTPB Ends Season On Down Note

DALLAS, Texas – Senior Gloria Geurin had double-digits in kills as The University of Texas Permian Basin volleyball team (17-10, 8-8 Lone Star Conference) lost 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-20) to Dallas Baptist (22-6, 14-2 LSC), Saturday afternoon at the Burg Center.

In the first set, Dallas Baptist jumped out to a 7-1 lead and never looked back.

In the second set, junior Aaliyah Gray spike the ball right down the middle to cut it to 3-2. The Patriots went on a 10-3 run to effectively end the set.

In the third set, UTPB and DBU slugged it out early. Up 7-6, Dallas Baptist had a 9-3 burst to lead 15-9.

The Falcons began to cut the margin. UT Permian Basin forced an error to make it 18-16. The Patriots scored three straight to take control.

For UT Permian Basin, Geurin had 13 kills and hit .300.

For Dallas Baptist, Delaney Fuller had 17 kills and 15 digs.

UT Permian Basin has concluded the 2023 season.
