Our fifth Hometown Hero of the season is Carlos Ortiz. Carlos Ortiz is a United States Marine Corps Veteran.

Ortiz enlisted into the Marines in 1988 and was first stationed at Naval Weapons station in Colts Neck, New Jersey. Ortiz served during desert storm and desert shield where he deployed with 3/8 Marines receiving numerous awards and commendations. Ortiz is a first-generation Marine.

After his Military service Carlos went on to become a Texas State Trooper and then a United States Border Patrol Agent until retiring as an Assistant Chief in 2022. Carlos attributes his hard work and service to the country since 1988 to his time as a United States Marine. Semper Fi.
