Park And Falcons Are Soaring High

WAIMEA, Hawaii – Senior Sangha Park and the Falcons lead the field as The University of Texas Permian Basin men's golf team closed out Day 1 of the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate.  The tournament is being played at Hapuna Golf Course, a Par-72 with a total yardage of 6,875 yards.

UTPB (Receiving Votes) shot 273 for a -15 and lead by nine strokes over #15 Colorado Christian.  Rounding out the top five are Hawaii Pacific (3rd – 285, -3), Cal State San Bernardino (T4th – 291, +3) and Cal State San Marcos (Receiving Votes) (T4th – 291, +3).

Individually, Park shot 62 for a -10 and leads by five strokes over Colin Huang of Sonoma State.  Park's score broke the low round school record of 63 he set earlier in the season.

Park leads the field in birdies (11), Par 3 Scoring (2.50) and Par 4 Scoring (3.40).  He is among the top 10 in Par 5 Scoring at 4.50.

Sophomore Kongpop Kaikaew is tied for fourth at -3 (69).  He is tied for second in Par 5 Scoring at 4.25 and tied for third with six birdies.

Freshman Ioan Rowe is tied for 12th at -1 (71).  He is tied for second with 15 pars.

Senior Nolan Otto is tied for 12th at -1 (71).  He is among the top 10 in Par 5 Scoring at 4.50.

Sophomore Thonsaeng Nunya is tied for 24th at even (72).  He is among the top 10 in Par 4 Scoring at 3.90.

UT Permian Basin closes out the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate, Saturday, Oct. 28.
