10/23/2023 2:00:00 PM

The University of Texas Permian Basin women's basketball team will look to improve on last season's ninth-place finish – which is where they are projected to finish this season, according to the Lone Star Conference Women's Basketball 2023-24 Preseason Poll which was released today (Oct. 23). Additionally, the Falcons had one basketball player named as a LSC player to watch.

Grad student, Alexus Quaadman returns for the 2023-24 season, after playing and starting in all 28 games last season as a Falcon. Quaadman averaged 10-points per game, shooting a team high 48.4 percent from the field. She also led the team in total rebounds grabbing 271 boards (9.7 per game) and led the team in blocks, sending back 33 shots. Additionally, she was second on the team in steals with 44.

"It feels really good to be selected as a player to watch, I have high aspirations for my last year on the court and I want to contribute anyway shape or form possible to help my teams success this year," said Quaadman. "That's where we finished last year. But, we have higher expectations this year and we know what we need to do on the court," said Quaadman, speaking on the Falcons being selected to finish ninth in the conference.

The Falcons will be on the road to kick the season off, heading to Grand Junction, Colorado to take on South Dakota Mines (Nov. 10) at 2 p.m. MT and Colorado Mesa (Nov. 11) at 6:30 p.m. MT
