MONAHANS, Texas - It was a total team effort as The University of Texas Permian Basin men's swimming & diving team (1-1) beat McMurry (0-1) 220-57, Saturday afternoon at Monahans ISD Pool.

UTPB won 14 of the 16 events and took the top two spots in 14 events.  Double winners were juniors Nathan Powell in the 50 and 100-yard breaststroke events (28.34, 1:01.36) and junior Evan Siegrist in the 200-yard IM (2:00.04) and 1000-yard freestyle (10:20.21).

The Falcons won both relays: the 200-yard medley (1:39.25) with sophomore Owen Ward, freshman Alexander Brough, freshman Colin Doyle and senior Trevor Heath and the 200-yard free (1:31.77) with freshman Tommy Betancourt, Brough, freshman Zane Garner and Doyle.

UT Permian Basin is off until Friday, Oct. 13 when they travel to swim Adams State.
