Making the first start in his Falcon career on Saturday,
Dylan Graham found the end zone twice in UT Permian Basin Football's season opener at Astound Broadband Stadium in Midland. He connected with
Brock Johnson and
Timothy Wiggins in the fourth quarter for the pair of scores.
After lightning caused the game to start late, Southwest Baptist found the end zone on the opening drive of the game. The Falcons answered on the ensuing drive with a 23-yard strike to
Clyde Bellow to set up a 41-yard field goal by
Carson Roberts.
That's all the Falcons could muster until the fourth quarter when Graham found Johnson on a 7-yard strike and Wiggins on a 30-yard catch-and-run for scores. The Falcon defense struggled to slow down the Bearcats who went on to take the ballgame 41-17,
Graham and
Gunnar Abseck had the connection going for five catches for a game high 66 receiving yards. Defensively
Derrian Forge led the way with nine tackles while
D'Ondre Robinson had eight.
Jalon Rocquemore had a stellar showing with eight tackles, two for a loss, and a sack.
Dominique Varela had a sack while Forge and
Caleb Pierson combined on another.
