The Falcons
  • Trever Berg picked up his second win of the year on Saturday with a complete game against UT Tyler.  The senior allowed just two earned runs over 7.0 innings to now tie for the team lead in victories.
  • The Falcons are second in the Lone Star Conference with 32 home runs, while the Lions are 11th with only 14.
  • Pedro Astacio has swung a hot bat with an RBI in 10 of his last 31 games.  The sophomore also has three home runs in that time span and is riding a four-game hitting streak.
  • On Friday, the Falcons won in walk off fashion on Gabe Morin's two-run blast off the scoreboard in left.  It was the freshman's first collegiate walk off and the team's first since May 7, 2021 when the Falcons walked off in 10 innings against St. Edward's.
  • Yesterday the bats were hot in game two, scoring 14 runs.  It was the sixth time this season the Falcons have scored in double figures.
  • This is the first trip the Lions have made to Odessa since 2015 with the last three series played at UAFS.  The Falcons have 10 wins all-time against the Lions.

The Lions
  • The Lions have struggled at home but are 9-10 on the road this season.
  • They have split their last two series against Eastern New Mexico and Cameron.
  • The team is second to last in the LSC in slugging percentage at .371.  They are in the bottom three of the conference in hits, doubles, triples, and stolen bases.
