The Falcons
  • Falcon pitching settled down last weekend and held No. 3 West Texas A&M below their season scoring average in three of the four contests.  In Friday's contest they allowed just four earned runs and struck out 13.
  • Michael Clapperton comes in as the team's hottest hitter.  He's leading the team with a .349 batting average and is riding a five-game hit streak.  Yesterday he went 3-for-5 with an RBI and scored a pair.
  • The Falcons are second in the Lone Star Conference with 23 home runs.
  • Devin Ferrari is starting to heat up.  The senior had a two-run home run and four RBI in yesterday's game.  Over his last three games he has six hits, five RBI, three extra base hits, and scored twice.
  • Cade Pollard was brilliant in his first start of the season.  He held the Buffs scoreless in five innings of work, allowing just three base runners after the first inning.
  • The Falcons have won eight of the last 13 in the series dating back to 2019.  Last time in Portales the Falcons had three consecutive shutout victories.

The Greyhounds
  • The Hounds come in after only playing two games last weekend at Cameron due to weather.
  • The team won on opening day at St. Edward's 4-3.  Their only other win came against Adams State on February 20.
  • Damian Acosta leads the team in innings on the mound with 17.2 and has one of their two wins.
