Valerie Gonzalez is rounding into form in Lone Star Conference play for UT Permian Basin Softball and on Friday the senior picked up a pair of hits against No. 15 Texas A&M - Kingsville. She leads the squad with 42 hits on the season.
The Falcon offense got it going early in game two of the doubleheader. Gonzalez set the table by reaching on an error before coming around to score on a
Leslie Martinez single. In the fourth the Falcon offense rallied.
Lani Graft started things with a leadoff single before being lifted for a pinch runner in
Aubree Beggs.
Ashlynn Bradley followed with a single before
Mia Quintero doubled home Beggs. Bradley scored on a ground ball to second for the third run of the game for the Falcons but it wasn't enough as they fell to the Javelinas 11-3. In the opening game of the doubleheader, the Falcons scattered three hits before falling 14-0.
