Mia Quintero continued her strong season on Sunday afternoon at No. 21 Texas A&M - Commerce. The sophomore recorded two hits for UT Permian Basin as they're offense was slow to get started.
In the opening game of the doubleheader,
Destini Trahan kept the Lions in check until running into trouble in the fourth. The Lions added to a 2-0 lead, scoring four times in the inning. In the fifth, Quintero broke up a no-hitter with a single for the eventual 8-0 final. In the second game the Falcons got going in the fourth with back-to-back singles from
Aracely Araiza and Quintero. That's all the offense the Falcons could muster as the Lions scored early for the 13-0 final.
The Falcons return to Odessa Friday to take on Angelo State. Download the UTPB Athletics App to follow the team all season long.
