The Falcons
- This season, 13 of the Falcons 21 games have been decided by 10 or fewer points. This includes five of their nine Lone Star Conference contests.
- Despite their record, the Falcons have the 11th best scoring margin in the LSC. Defensively the Falcons give up the eighth fewest points per game in the conference.
- The Falcons are second in the conference in forced turnovers with 456, trailing Texas A&M International by three.
- Avalon Munoz has been one of the best point guards in the LSC, sitting second in the conference with 91 assists. The freshman is also fifth in steals with 46. On Saturday she tied a career high with 20 points at Western New Mexico.
- The Falcons beat the Rattlers back in December, 70-63, in Odessa. Prior to that the Rattlers had taken six straight in the series dating back to 2015. Holly Hemmeline and Alexus Wykoff had 14 points each as five Falcons scored in double figures.
- The last time the Falcons won in San Antonio on February 2, 2012. The Falcons knocked down a three in the final seconds for the 60-57 win.
The Rattlers
- Since the last time these teams played, the Rattlers have won just two games, both of them at home. The Rattlers held off Western New Mexico on January 29 for their last victory.
- Hannah Wilson is the focus of the team. She is third in the LSC averaging 16.3 points per game and leads the conference with 12.0 rebounds a game. In the earlier match up, she scored 22 points along with 15 rebounds.
- The Rattlers have a busy February after COVID force their schedule to shuffle. This is the second of four weeks where they will play on Monday.
